iLead Fellows...
Dads and men in the community visit school every morning to greet students, promote character development, and set a positive example of involvement and leadership.
They start by being at the school early before everyone arrives with their “iLead” t-shirt on. They are giving high fives, fist bumps, and promoting an enthusiastic and healthy start to the day.
Finally, they make their way to an assigned classroom to be a guest speaker on their career, talk about healthy life choices and/or character, conduct read alouds, lead math games, etc.
We have found that elementary schools are full of positive female role models, but there is a lack of opportunities for male leadership and influence. iLead has made great strides in bridging this gap, by inviting and challenging men to make a difference and join the team! The positive energy that this program generates is amazing!
